Curb-to-Curb Service

CARR provides "curb-to-curb" service. The following policies explain the meaning and intent of curb-to-curb.

Private Homes

Transit bus operators will not enter private homes for any reason. Bus operators may assist passengers to board and to exit the vehicles only.

Business/Medical Facilities/Public Buildings

Transit bus operators may assist passengers to board and to exit the vehicle only. Bus operators will not assist passenger past this point. It is the individual's, personal care attendant, or care provider's responsibility to ensure that passengers are on time and waiting for their ride.

Bus operators will not enter medical facilities, shopping centers, or businesses in an attempt to find passengers. Passengers must be waiting at the designated pick-up point. Door to door service for elderly and disabled passengers upon advanced request will be provided. (Remember - drivers are not permitted to enter a passenger's home.)

Accommodation of Mobility Devices

CARR will accommodate mobility devices, which do not exceed 30 inches in width and 48 inches in length when measured two inches above the ground.

CARR will make every reasonable effort to accommodate various models available to passengers. However, due to the increasing size and weight of such equipment, some limitations will be necessary in order to ensure the safe transport of the mobility device and passengers.
